Coulda Woulda Shoulda is a feature we do on our podcast where we look at other actors who were considered for the leading roles in the films we review. We also add a few of our own suggestions for whom we think could’ve been cast or in some cases shoulda been cast.
Episode 1a – Air Force One (1997)
Kevin Costner was considered for the role of US President, James Marshall and although he could have done almost a good a job as Harrison Ford, not to mention it would have meant he didn’t make The Postman, there simply aren’t enough films featuring Harrison Ford so regardless we’re happy how things turned out.
Episode 1b – Face/Off (1997)
With Face/Off, especially given how long the script was bouncing around Hollywood, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that many leading men of the 1990s era were considered at some point.
As you might expect a Stallone/Schwarzenegger face off was considered but another, and for our money, slightly more interesting pair considered due to their links with the production team were Michael Douglas and Harrison Ford.
As amazing as that pairing sounds I don’t either would really suit John Woo’s direction, but hey, it would have been interesting to see the results.
